Dorothy Pino (1987), a native of California, currently teaches K-12 music in Northeastern Colorado. She studied Music Educations at the Biola Conservatory of Music with a saxophone emphasis, and began her composing career with song writing for voice and guitar at a young age. As her theoretical knowledge expanded in college, she began composing pieces that would be useable in her teaching career. This included a variety of works for concert band and choir. Utilizing her experiences in world travel, Dorothy often tries to convey a story or tone poem in her music. “Romanian Suite is one such piece -- exploring the traveler’s journey to an ex-communist country to share music with orphans.
